Craftsman 20 in. 50 cc gas chainsaw is one of the most reliable and powerful Craftsman in its class. The much improved two-cycle engine is designed to take on any sawing job, from chores you need done around the house to tree felling and other heavier tasks. It looks like a professional and durable chainsaw.
Table of Contents
You should expect nothing less than performance and durability out of this chainsaw. The Craftsman 50cc can be used for 100 hours and it still runs like it’s brand new. Even the chain is greatly improved as compared to the previous Craftsman chainsaw models, and you can cut over 3 cord of wood without repairing it. It can cut through any type of wood, no matter what dimensions they are.
Easy to use
The Craftsman 50cc is pretty light for the power it has, which means that professional users can cut with it through large logs without feeling fatigue even after longer periods of time. The best thing about its design is that it is sturdy enough for bigger jobs, but also light enough to use for smaller chores around the house.
Some components may fail
After about one year of use, some components may start to fail on you: the clutch may burn up, depending on how excessively you have used the chainsaw during this time; the pull cord may break after cutting through many cords of wood. If you experience some problems such as the saw locking up, check to see if the metal brake band is properly installed.
The tensioner screw doesn’t seem to be big enough to match the force of the tensioning chain, which may cause serious damage if you don’t check the chain from time to time. Some persons also had trouble replacing the chain, as the new chain would not budge. The plastic adds a cheap aspect to the saw, but it’s not something unusual for light weight saws to have plastic components. However, these are the first ones to brake in time, so be careful with them.
