Types of Chainsaws

Motors are used to drive the chain around the bar on a chainsaw. The type of motor used will have an effect on the type of work that the saw is capable of undertaking and the safety considerations you need to be aware of before purchasing. Gas motors are used to drive chainsaws that are required for more heavy duty work. Larger bar sizes benefit from more powerful gas engines while smaller bar sizes may still benefit from gas motors when there are larger workloads required. For most domestic use electric motors are suitable for many types of work from hedge trimming to log cutting.
